Overview of the Awards Tool
The Learning Hub Awards tool gives Instructors the opportunity to issue badges and certificates. This allows the instructors to communicate when a student has completed an achievement in the course – usually a milestone. Awards and Badges are meant to provide digital markers that represent accomplishment throughout a course or program.
Locate the Awards tool
To locate the Awards tool > log into the Learning Hub > select myTools > Awards.
Or open a course > select myTools > Awards
Download a Certificate
To download your certificate, go to the Awards page > select the Certificate text > a popup window will appear > Generate Certificate. A PDF of your certificate will download onto your computer.
Badges and Certificates are based on a set of criteria determined (release conditions) or can be manually awarded by the instructor/program. The system generates a PDF file that users can print or save to their device.
Badges and Certificates are not official academic records. They are only intended to provide an interactive and fun way to engage students with course content and activities. All official BCIT records are given through myBCIT accounts. Please refer to myBCIT for all official documentation and transcripts.
