Rubrics – Attaching to Assignments or Discussions
To attach a graded rubric from the rubrics tool into your assignment or discussion, the rubric must first be created and set to published in the rubrics tool or else it will not show up when trying to select it.
Attaching Rubrics to Assignments
Select Activities > Assignments

Click on the dropdown arrow next to the desired assignment > Edit Folder

Under the Evaluation & Feedback tab (far right) > select Add Rubric > Add Existing

Choose the Rubric listed > Add Selected

Save or Save & Close > the Rubric will now be attached to the Assignment

Attaching Rubrics to Discussions
Select Activities > Discussions

Select the Discussion > Edit Topic

Under the Evaluation & Feedback tab > select Add Rubric

Select Create New or Add Existing
- Create New – see the following job aid on How to Create a Rubric
- Add Existing – choose the already created rubric from the dropdown list
Click on Add Selected > Save & Close
If your rubric does not appear on this list please go back to the rubrics tool and make sure your rubric is set to “Published”
