Video Response To a Quiz Question
When a “written response” question type is included in a quiz, the instructor can checkmark the setting, “enable inserted images and attachments”, when creating the question. When enabled, students can answer the question with only a file, an audio recording or a video recording. Optionally, they can type in a text response with/without a file or audio/video recording. This job aid covers the steps for students to respond with a video recording.
1. In a quiz, below the question text box, click the “record video” button.

2. Click the “allow” button or click the checkbox beside “remember this decision” and then the “allow” button. Note: The exact dialogue message may vary depending on the browser used.

3. Scroll down using the right side scroll bar.

4. Click the “new recording” button.

5. Note that the “new recording” button changes to “stop recording”. Click it when finished your recording. Notice the recording duration. In the below example it’s 7 seconds.

6. The recorded video will now play. Move your pointer over the video to see the video controls. If you are satisfied with your video, click the “add” button. If you want to redo your video, click the “new recording” button which will delete your previous recording.

7. Wait for your video to be processed as per below.

8. Enter a title and description. Then select the audio language e.g. en-US – English (US). Click the “add” button.

9. Take note that your video is attached at the bottom of the question text box.

10. When all questions are answered, scroll to the bottom of the page. The question numbers listed in the upper left corner (display may vary depending on instructor quiz settings) should all have a checkmark beside them which indicates a saved response. If not, check the question(s) that is missing a checkmark and provide a response. You may have to click your mouse pointer outside the question text box for the response to be saved.
Click the “submit quiz” button once. Then click it a second time to confirm. Finally, click the “done” button.
