Class for Teams – Tabs in Class
When you share screens or media using the Share or the Collaborate tools you and your students will notice that tabs representing these items will begin popping up towards the left-hand side and next to the Class logo.
For the Collaborate tools especially, please be mindful that students can click through these tabs at their discretion and may not be on the same page as you if you are presenting this media. You can close these tabs for yourself and students by clicking on the ‘x’ icon on the tab just like you would for a browser tab.
Students can still access content after tabs are closed
Once media is shared and closed it is not deleted and students can still access it from under their “Student Tools” (this is what students will see instead of Learning Tools). To delete any media completely and to prevent students from opening it up again in Student tools, please delete the media directly from the specific Collaborate tool.
Locking Tabs
If you want to ensure students are viewing the same content that you want them to you can lock tabs. When a tab is locked, students cannot move between tabs. To lock a tab, move your cursor pointer over a tab and click the lock icon. Note that only one tab can be locked at a time as once a tab is locked it will force your students to view the contents of that tab. If you lock another tab while one is already locked the tab that was previously locked will be unlocked.
