Class for Teams – Share Screen
Screen sharing creates a forced-follow experience for the learners and provides the instructor with complete control over the pace at which your learners are exposed to the material. Share your desktop, browser, or a software application to teach students about a topic. Whenever you move through the application or desktop, your students automatically follow along.
How to Screen Share
- Join a class
- Select Share in the top toolbar. Select the window or screen you want to share. This will look different in different browsers.
- Chrome Tab – share a website that’s already opened on your computer
- Window – if you have multiple monitors, choose which monitor to share
- Entire Screen – when you share your entire screen it is seen by everybody in the class. Close any windows and applications you don’t want others to see before you start to share.
- If prompted, confirm you want to share > Share
After you share, everyone in the class can see your window or screen.
Allow Others To Share Their Screen
There are two ways instructors can allow students the ability to screen share. The first way is to add students to a presenting group.
- Find the person’s video in the main area or name on the People list.
- Select the More options button.
- Select Add to Presenting Group.
This method works well if you only want to give a handful of students sharing privileges.
The second method is to click on the dropdown icon next to the Share tool and under “Who can share?” select All participants. This action will immediately grant everyone in the Class sharing privileges.
Click on Advance Sharing Options if you would also like to restrict or enable who can take over screen sharing.
