D2L Brightspace displays this warning when it detects you’re using a web browser that has fallen a few versions behind. Please update your web browser

If you continue on, and use D2L Brightspace through an older or unsupported browser, you may experience problems navigating the system or completing work. If you receive a message, such as in the below image, your browser version is out-of-date. Depending on your device and operating system, you may be able to update/change your browser to a compatible version.
Note: All versions of Microsoft Internet Explorer and Microsoft Edge Legacy (launched July 2015 in Windows 10) are incompatible.
If your device’s operating system has been updated and it cannot support one of the modern browser versions above, then your device may no longer be compatible with the Learning Hub. Outdated browsers are blocked and not supported in the Learning Hub due to security vulnerabilities, major performance issues, or extremely low usage. For more information, visit Browser Support.
Retro and Legacy Browser
You can access Brightspace with retro or legacy browsers (i.e., specific older versions of supported browsers); however, D2L does not test Brightspace against these older versions. This means you may encounter unexpected user interface behavior and appearance, or broken and unsupported functionality.
In most cases, D2L does not provide technical support or fix software defects experienced in retro and legacy browsers.
When there is an announcement that a browser version is becoming retro or legacy, a feature appears in the Brightspace Platform release notes to notify users about the scheduled changes.
If you attempt to connect to a Brightspace instance with an unsupported browser, Brightspace’s browser version check displays a retro or legacy browser warning message.
