Class for Teams – How to Create and Remove Class Sessions
To access Class for Team > go to your Learning Hub course > from the navigation bar click Activities > Class for Teams

Create/Edit a Class
- Select Settings & Schedule (or Schedule Session if there are no meetings). The first instructor to open the Class link will be the primary host for the Class meeting. Until an instructor sets up Class, the meeting is not available to learners.
- Best Practice: Join Class room – Clicking on the Join Class room button will launch a Class session. Students also have access to this button and can enter Class sessions this way. We recommend, however, that students enter Class meetings by clicking on the Launch button that appears next to the meeting instead. The reason for this is that joining a meeting through the Join Class room button does not record student attendance, whereas joining through Launch does. Please also note that the Launch button is only visible next to a meeting when the local time falls in between the scheduled times you have set for that meeting. As a rule of thumb, it is best practice to use Join a Class room to enter Class when it is done under the following scenarios:
- When two or more instructors join the meeting to meet between each other
- When an instructor wants to have private conversation or “office hours” with students

- When instructors join the meeting during the times that they have set for students to enter the Class session
One way to think about Class is that it is actually one long continuous meeting running in the background. When you schedule sessions with Class what you are really doing is giving suggested times to enter this same meeting.
- Give your class a Name. Make the name something easy for your learners to recognize. For example, Bio 101. This name shows for all learners in the class. If you create a class from your LMS, the name is added for you.
- Optionally, provide a ClassID and Description.
- We recommend using the default passcode. Please leave this as is.

- Select the Start Time, End Time, Start Date, and End Date. By default, the Timezone matches the timezone set on your computer. If the class is recurring throughout the week, you are able to select multiple days of the week. You will see the dates appear under Selected Dates. The specific dates that fall within the scheduled date range will show in the Selected dates list. Look through this list. We recommend that you delete any dates you know you won’t meet. For example, a holiday. That way the automated class attendance and participation data won’t be skewed.
- To create a class with multiple days and timings, select Add More Dates. You can see your selected dates and select the X to delete any. Once deleted, the specific date is removed from the list.

- Optionally, expand Advanced Settings to:
- Allow or prevent students joining before instructors into Class sessions (we recommend allowing students to join before instructors).
- Enable the Enhanced Learning Management System Integration or use the default Class Course Content tools under Learning Tools Choice.
