How to sign up for a free MOOC course

MOOC courses (Massive Open Online Course) are free courses available on the Learning Hub.

** New and refreshed accounts may take up to 24 hours to activate.
** If you are new to BCIT you will first need to create a BCIT account before registering for your course.

Here are the steps to register for a MOOC:

Go to: https://ww.bcit.ca/free-online-learning/ > Scroll down to the 3 headings: Citizenship, Learning, Industry > choose one to explore courses available 

Select the desired course > Scroll down to the bottom of that page to the heading To Register > select log in and register

Select View Details to expand the box

Select Add to Cart > it will change to View Cart > click View Cart

Click the box beside I confirm I have read and understand the important information above > click Proceed to Registration

Select the OK, Continue to Registration box

When prompted, log into your myBCIT account by entering your BCIT ID number (A0#) and password > Sign in

Scroll down to Complete your Registration > Continue

Agree to the privacy statement that follows by placing a checkmark > Continue

View the tuition page, then click the Registration Details link in the message.

Review your registration details. Log out (top right corner).

** If you are a new student, please wait 24 hours before logging to access your course.  Log into the Learning Hub  https://learn.bcit.ca >  enter your BCIT email address and password > on the Learning Hub homepage, scroll down to the My Courses section and select All to access your course. Click on your course to enter

You will receive an email (sent to your BCIT email and personal email) about payment options but can disregard if your course has no fees.
