Kaltura BSE – Overview

Kaltura Browse and embed (BSE) tools let you easily search through My media, Media Gallery, and playlists, and embed them into pages inside the Learning Hub. You can embed media in rich-text areas like Announcements, Quizzes, Assignments or directly into the Content area of your course.

Key features of the BSE tools

• Upload videos directly from My Media to a course or lesson.
• Add videos or playlists published into Media Gallery elsewhere in your course.
• Automatically integrate video quiz results into your grade book.
• Embed media anywhere you can publish text, such as announcements or forums.

Kaltura BSE is accessed using two tools on the Learning Hub, Embed Kaltura Media and Insert Stuff. Please see the job aids below for more information regarding each tool.

Kaltura Quizzes

Kaltura Quizzes that are created in My Media can be released using the Embed Kaltura Media tool. Question scoring for Kaltura Quizzes can be synchronized with the Learning Hub’s Grade tool, allowing for the automatic grading of certain question types.
